SUMMARY

Experienced as a Supervising Electrical Designer on a variety of projects including those in the aerospace, environmental, mining, petroleum refinery, offshore oil platforms, bakery and cogeneration industries and substation design. Progressively enhancing practical experience in the electrical discipline with field assignments and construction support, the area of automation technology has been a strong point and important addition to my assigned projects. Developed project construction standards, installation specifications, design basis (cable ampacity, voltage drop, conduit sizing, etc.) and drawing standardization. Supervised project electrical concerns pertaining to NEC compatibility and constructability. Functions as a discipline/project CADD coordinator specializing in the area of 3D models. Also, I am providing Architectural Design and Drafting services for residential remodeling and various types of architectural projects, such as site plans, landscaping, facility planning, elevations and associated schedules. Current client is a Lafayette architectural firm specializing in pen and ink manual drafting and design for remodels, expansion and new residential facility and outbuilding design. A most recent client is completing construction on a residential remodel, removing a mismatched tri-level configuration to a true two story updated home with cantilevered front and rear upper story. The challenge in this project was to cut and lift the upper story, demolish the lower to install a completely new expanded foundation and 6" studwall construction to support the existing and expanded second story. A new garage was strategically added to the lot behind the house straddling the structure in such a way as to share the load of the cantilevered rear section. The new front porch and deck was remodeled to bring back a look captured 40 years previously in an old family picture. All utilities were upgraded/updated to conform with the latest municipal and uniform building codes.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Altech Design Group Architectural Design/Drafting Services
January, 1997 to Present
Providing Architectural Design and Drafting services for residential remodeling and a variety of architectural projects. Work has been accomplished on various CAD software along with manual drafting as desired by the client.

Design Engineer
December, 2000 to Present
Responsible for the Electrical Design on a series of municipal, commercial and industrial projects. Being that we are a small business I also create architectural backgrounds required for reference files. The jobs have varied from fast track, schedule driven industrial nightmares to critical facility code reliant institutional necessities. Achievements: * Maintained pace with construction schedule for 50MW power generation project while juggling a variety of parallel projects consistent with the nature of our work scenarios. * Kept abreast of the ever-changing job market for new prospects.

Supervising Designer
June, 2000 to December, 2000
Responsible for electrical design package for internet web hosting facility in Seattle, WA. Project was designed with seven standby generators at 25MW each (6+1) and onsite 115kV substation. Responsibilities included total layout of double ended double backup power distribution and UPS system consisting of generator paralleling switchgear and control panels, five pairs of 15kV distribution switchgear, five pairs of UPS switchgear and redundant power distribution units (PDU's) throughout the raised floor web hosting control and distribution center. The raised floor area was a great challenge in design foresight and coordination due to the need for all electrical power and communications cabling, piping, fire detection and suppression and air handling to coexist. The power distribution area was a different challenge due the client requirement for separation of all switchgear sets (different rooms for each pair). 3D CAD was used to detect and eliminate interference concerns. Functioning as the electrical group CAD lead I was accountable for the coordination with the project design team and construction crews.

Supervising Designer
January, 2000 to June, 2000
Responsible for the design and fast track construction of telecommunication satellite cell sites at a variety of commercial, institutional and residential locations. Design challenge was to make the standardized equipment layout fit the installation which increased the need for a variety of code referrals, local government agency coordination and inspector satisfaction.

Supervising Designer
August, 1996 to January, 2000
Responsible for the site underground ductbank and power distribution design including the electrical rooms, overland pole line power and control design, conveyor tunnel lighting and power distribution and cable distribution schematics on a Peruvian mining project. CAD responsibilities included project setup, standardization, group leadership and training, associated cable and raceway schedules, extraction of 3D modeling database material takeoff information and transfer of data to field construction team in Peru. Achievements: * Developed an underground ductbank system in a very difficult and mountainous area with an extensively terraced environment. * Developed standardized CAD tools for maintaining group consistency thereby minimizing possibilities of design fluctuation.

Supervising Designer
April, 1995 to August, 1996
Commuted and telecommuted to McLaren/Hart, a Sacramento based environmental engineering firm which had clients in mainland China. Responsible for the Electrical Design and CADD coordination on a series of municipal and industrial projects. The jobs varied from proposals to minor facility design to total plant scope including power distribution and control room interface. AutoCAD 3D was used for electrical critical design development. Achievements: * Initially staffed for a few weeks to help with completion of critical phase of project due to inexperienced personnel. Extended to total project completion. Created design basis tables eliminating cable, conduit and cable tray design errors. * Established control and block diagram templates for uniformity and consistency. * Discipline CADD Coordinator responsible for the interfacing with other discipline CADD coordinators and project management. * Established discipline CADD procedures thereby eliminating inefficiency and duplication of efforts.

Supervising Designer
August, 1984 to April, 1995
Responsible for the CADD supervision and coordination on the Space Launch Complex 3-East at Vandendurg Air Force Base (VAFB) in California. Project CADD database is MicroStation with a 3D model. (Software used was Bechtel 3DM, subsequently sold to Bentley/Jacobus and developed as "Plant Space".) Achievements: * Discipline CADD Coordinator responsible for the interfacing with other discipline CADD coordinators and project management. * Established discipline CADD procedures and ongoing training needs. * Led group on first time 3D modeling of this magnitude.

Supervising Designer - Consultant
1979 to 1984
Completed 25-months on the Richmond Lube Oil Project (RLOP) off-plot facilities at Chevron USA Refinery. Scope of work included existing plant revamp additions in numerous areas of the Refinery concerning all phases of electrical design and associated electrical drawings. Responsibilities included the electrical model related work (plastic) and for initiation and completion of my assigned work load and that of a design crew. Various petrochemical projects with responsibilities for all phases of electrical design and extensive field construction experience. Duties included electrical and instrumentation coordinator, modeling interface and related layout drawings.
